Diesel Engine Explosion Protection for the Oil and Gas Industry
Pyroban supplies explosion protection kits for diesel engines working in Zone 2 areas in the oil and gas industry.
We have kits for many types of mechanical and electronically controlled engines typically used to drive equipment such as wireline units, nitrogen units, coiled tubing, cement or fire water pumps.See examples
Pyroban Zone 2 kit seen here installed in a compressor. Pyroban systems provide safety on oil and gas installations all over the world. See more examplesThe Pyroban kit will prevent the ignition of gas or vapour by cooling the engine skin temperature, eliminating sparking components and preventing overspeed conditions.
All Pyroban kits are supplied with full certification, documentation and manuals and full technical support is provided to ensure that packaging, integration and installation is carried out smoothly. Alternatively Pyroban can package the engine and Pyroban kit for you.
The Typical Pyroban kit.
A typical kit includes the following components. Full details available on technical downloads page.
Example Pyroban Zone 2 Kit1. SVG inlet Shutdown valve | shuts engine down if engine overspeeds. Also contains integral inlet flame arrestor
2. Water cooled exhaust gas cooler | limits surface and exhaust temperatures to the specified temperature class.
3. Water cooled exhaust flexible | Maintains temperature Class whilst insulating engine vibration / movement
4. Spark arrestor | Stops hot carbon particles exiting the system
5. Crankcase / Airbox breather |
6. Pyroban EExd flameproof alternator |
7. Pyroban EExe increased safety battery |
8. Exhaust Flame arrestor | heavy, maintenance intensive component used to prevent flames reaching atmosphere from the exhaust system
OPTION - 3GP | avoid using exhaust flame arrestors with 3GP
